Amarone Classico: the journey of a great wine, from vineyard to glass

An intense ruby red color, enveloping aromas of jam and spices, and a velvety palate with remarkable persistence. It only takes a moment to recognize it: Amarone della Valpolicella is a wine that speaks of place, time, and tradition. An enological masterpiece born from deep respect for the land and the skilled care of those who guide it through every stage of production. Today, we invite you to join us on this extraordinary journey.

It all begins in the vineyard, among the gentle hills of Valpolicella, when September brings bright days and the air fills with the scent of ripe grapes. Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella are the leading varieties in this story. Harvesting is carried out strictly by hand: each bunch is carefully selected and gently placed into crates to preserve the integrity and quality of the grapes.

After harvesting, the grapes are taken to the fruttaio, a spacious, cool, and well-ventilated environment. Here, one of the most fascinating stages of Amarone production takes place: the appassimento. In a quiet atmosphere suspended in time, the grapes slowly lose part of their water content, concentrating sugars, aromas, and polyphenols. This process, which lasts for about one hundred days, is the secret behind the extraordinary structure and complexity of this wine.

Once the appassimento is complete, the grapes yield a rich and precious must. After fermentation, the wine begins a long aging period in French oak barrels, where it gains depth and elegance. The bouquet unfolds with notes of ripe red fruit, sweet spices, toasted nuances, tobacco, and a delicate balsamic hint.

Like a perfectly orchestrated symphony, each element finds its balance, giving life to our Amarone Classico della Valpolicella DOCG Monteci: a wine that tells our story, our land, and the passion we pour into every glass.
